Senior Program Manager, Global Medical Affairs - Rare Disease & General Medicine

What you will do

In this vital role you will support the development and execution of Medical Strategy for Global Rare Disease and General Medicine Medical Affairs teams, including Dazodalibep and olpasiran. This is a key role whose overarching objective is to drive the development and execution of Medical Strategy in collaboration with Medical Affairs Leads. In this vital role, you will ensure that key deliverables including medical plans, insights, budgets and goals are brought to completion. The Senior Manager is a cross-functional, collaborative role across global, regional, and local Medical teams and partners. You will identify metrics, progress, interdependencies, and concerns, facilitate resolution as needed, and keep the Medical Affairs Team aligned around its priorities.

You will lead cross-functional planning, manage project risks, and drive resolution of complex issues while aligning strategic goals across the broader organization.
 

Responsibilities

  • Drive the coordination and integration of insights in partnership with the Medical Affairs Lead to inform product strategy for global and local teams.

  • Be a key point of communication to ensure execution of the Medical Plan, including goal development and regular progress tracking.

  • Drive the Medical Plan process and ensure alignment between global, regional, and local Medical leads, including large and ROW/emerging markets.

  • Understand the Global Medical Strategy and ensure integration through close partnership with EGT, AUEG, IBT and other critical cross-functional partners.

  • Drive decision making within the Global Medical Affairs Team and ensure decisions, actions, and follow-up are clearly documented.

  • Identify key deliverables for each function and their interdependencies; maintain integrated plans

  • Implement standard methodologies and reinforce cross-functional alignment and accountability.

  • Identify project issues, risks, and resource gaps; facilitate resolution, contingency planning, and escalation as appropriate.

  • Reinforce sound decision making according to Amgen’s Decision-Making Framework.

  • Monitor and communicate progress, adherence to timelines, and variance from plan to Medical Affairs leadership.

  • Facilitate resource planning, financial planning, and capacity assessments in partnership with Medical Operations, Finance, and functional leaders.

  • Conduct risk management, contingency, and scenario planning using a variety of project-management tools.

  • Support continuous improvement of Rare Disease & General Medicine Medical planning, governance, and ways of working.

  • Drive operational excellence and automation by applying approved emerging technologies, including AI tools such as Copilot, to strengthen Medical planning, reporting, and ways of working.
