The Research Associate will support the IMPACT/ODSI Project Office at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). NASA's IMPACT/ODSI Project Office monitors trends and progressions across the informatics, data science, and information technology communities to inform strategy and develop effective solutions for Earth science data management and dissemination. The IMPACT/ODSI Project Office also provides a broad user perspective on how NASA Earth science data and information are represented and communicated. The IMPACT/ODSI project fosters cross-community collaborations to improve all Earth science data life cycle phases, including processes, policies, engineering, and information communication.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Facilitating meetings among science teams and end users that result in actionable recommendations to science teams.
• Conducting assessments of solutions with end users.
• Implementing existing stakeholder engagement and co-design strategies, tailoring them to activities as needed.
• Researching communities of potential to find new stakeholders for solutions.
• Supporting science teams to incorporate appropriate co-design and co-development activities.
• Written and oral reporting to internal and external audiences.
• Bachelor's degree in earth, environment or atmospheric science or a related field.
• Minimum of 21 months of full-time verifiable work experience.
• Experience in python programming.
• Working knowledge of GIS.
• Proven experience with using satellite data for earth-atmosphere applications.
• Experience with project planning.
• Strong communication skills.
• Master's degree in earth, environment or atmospheric science.
