Yahoo’s Platforms Engineering organization creates modern, secure, and efficient software platforms to power all of Yahoo’s brands at scale. Within YPE, the Business Operations and Strategy (BOS) team is responsible for maintaining operational excellence. We develop and execute team strategy, create and maintain best-in-class processes and procedures, and coordinate cross-team priorities and initiatives to ensure the highest quality of service for our business partners and key stakeholders.</p><p></p><p>A Lot About You</p><p>We're looking for an impressive individual who is passionate about all aspects of program and project management, is highly organized, and communicates well with internal and external stakeholders. This is a key position to lead the definition, execution and deployment of technical programs. Your role in program definition will be to ensure programs have clear business requirements, defined solutions meeting architectural standards, appropriate resourcing, agreed delivery schedules, and viable implementation plans. Once programs/projects are kicked off, your role is to drive them to deliver against committed schedules, to either resolve or escalate issues, and to communicate frequent status against goals. You will continue to see programs through user acceptance and global implementation. <br/> </p><p>Responsibilities: </p><p>Be accountable for Program Delivery:</p><ul><li><p>Own the success of the programs and projects and the team with a fierce passion</p></li><li><p>Track appropriate metrics of team progress, productivity and success</p></li><li><p>Provide clear and objective reports of team status, issues, and risks to management </p></li></ul><p></p><p>Provide leadership to your teams:</p><ul><li><p>Manage team dynamics, meetings and communications to enable rapid progress</p></li><li><p>Facilitate decision-making, issue resolution and consensus amongst the team</p></li><li><p>Take on issues the team can’t resolve and own them until you obtain resolution</p></li><li><p></p></li></ul><p>Ensure programs realize value for Yahoo:</p><ul><li><p>Work with the various engineering team to ensure projects stay aligned with business priorities</p></li><li><p>Establish relationships across partner organizations to facilitate program-level delivery</p></li><li><p>Contribute to the maturation of the program delivery processes for the organization.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Qualifications:</p><p>Minimum Job Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>3+ years direct program management experience</p></li><li><p>A mastery of the how to lead a programs and projects through the lifecycle (initiation to post implementation)  </p></li><li><p>An ability to manage to task-level, based on a background of technical experience</p></li><li><p>Outstanding communication skills and a “can-do” attitude</p></li><li><p>Proficiency at core project management skills: task breakdown, schedule development, resource allocation, risk analysis, progress tracking and reporting</p></li><li><p>Strong grasp of general SDLC concepts.</p></li><li><p>Track record of delivering programs successfully as a dedicated program leader</p></li><li><p>Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, at all levels of the organization</p></li><li><p>Excellent team leadership and team building skills</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Preferable Job Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>PMP certification</p></li><li><p>CSM Certification</p></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p>Yahoo is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
