Summary
Provides direction, leadership and coordination for the overall administration, planning and implementing a program for Data Utilization throughout the school systemEssential Duties
- Coordinates the development of tools and processes to analyze and report performance data that meet the decision-making requirements of all District stakeholders, including administrators, teachers, other employees, students, parents, and the general community
- Directs the work of the Data Utilization Team
- Collaborates with other departments and divisions to support the work of Data Utilization
- Supports data governance effort to improve functionality and reliability of information queries from the data warehouse
- Maintains the Balanced Scorecard ensuring that data is current
- Maintains School Profile reports
- Oversees maintenance of tabular model used for development of dashboards; Ensures that proper documentation is in place for all system reports and dashboards
- Monitors the design of data reports, including dashboard and interactive query forms to report on key District metrics
- Analyzes and communicates key findings from standardized test results
- Plans and coordinates training on data analysis tools, analyzing and presenting data, and assisting others with interpreting and using data to ensure its use by school and central office staff
- Manages compliance reporting needs by gathering data from schools and reporting to various state and federal agencies
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related fieldCertification/Licensure
None requiredExperience Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of experience in analyzing student achievement data and training others in interpreting and applying these results, with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience required; Mid to senior level experience in an educational organization preferredKnowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of people and to observe, listen, motivate, and provide leadership which results in the best environment
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
- Ability to manage financial, material, and human resources effectively
- Proven ability to make recommendations on various topics, detailed, controversial, simple, or complex
- Ability to develop implement, monitor, and evaluate program goals and initiatives
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities
- Ability to exercise strict confidence in handling sensitive information
- Must be skilled in collaborative leadership of individuals and groups
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
