Summary

Provides direction, leadership and coordination for the overall administration, planning and implementing a program for Data Utilization throughout the school system

Essential Duties

  • Coordinates the development of tools and processes to analyze and report performance data that meet the decision-making requirements of all District stakeholders, including administrators, teachers, other employees, students, parents, and the general community
  • Directs the work of the Data Utilization Team
  • Collaborates with other departments and divisions to support the work of Data Utilization
  • Supports data governance effort to improve functionality and reliability of information queries from the data warehouse
  • Maintains the Balanced Scorecard ensuring that data is current
  • Maintains School Profile reports
  • Oversees maintenance of tabular model used for development of dashboards; Ensures that proper documentation is in place for all system reports and dashboards
  • Monitors the design of data reports, including dashboard and interactive query forms to report on key District metrics
  • Analyzes and communicates key findings from standardized test results
  • Plans and coordinates training on data analysis tools, analyzing and presenting data, and assisting others with interpreting and using data to ensure  its use  by school and central office staff  
  • Manages compliance reporting needs by gathering data from schools and reporting to various state and federal agencies  
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field

Certification/Licensure

None required

Experience Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of experience in analyzing student achievement data and training others in interpreting and applying these results, with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience required; Mid to senior level experience in an educational organization preferred

  • Ability to exercise strict confidence in handling sensitive information
  • Must be skilled in collaborative leadership of individuals and groups
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
