Overview:We are seeking a skilled and security-cleared AV Field Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audiovisual systems at government or secure facilities. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Extron, Crestron, and AMX systems and must be able to work in high-security environments with professionalism, precision, and discretion.
Key Responsibilities:Install, configure, and test AV equipment including displays, projectors, control systems, video conferencing systems, audio processors, and matrix switchers.Program and troubleshoot Crestron, Extron, and AMX control systems.Perform field service calls for diagnostics, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.Read and interpret AV system schematics, floorplans, and technical documentation.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and end-users to ensure successful system delivery.Maintain documentation and service logs for all work performed.Travel to client locations, including secure federal facilities, as needed.Follow all security protocols and ensure system integrity within classified environments.
Required Qualifications:Active Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance (must be verifiable and current).Minimum 3 years of hands-on AV installation and field service experience.Strong technical expertise in Extron, Crestron, and AMX systems (certifications a plus).Familiarity with signal flow, AV rack building, cable pulling, and terminations.Ability to troubleshoot complex AV systems both independently and collaboratively.Excellent communication skills and customer-facing professionalism.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders/lifts as needed.Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
Preferred Qualifications:CTS or CTS-I certification.Experience working in classified government environments.Networking knowledge (AV over IP, VLANs, switching).Experience with video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, WebEx, etc.).Experience documenting systems using tools like AutoCAD, Visio, or D-Tools.
