Position summary
As the Senior Accounting Analyst, you will be a key business partner ensuring the proper accounting and compliance for bottle deposits and beverage taxes across the Nestlé companies in the U.S. The role involves ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with regulatory authorities, preparing beverage tax filings, and helping to streamline processes within the bottle deposit and beverage tax functions. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of regulatory compliance, excellent analytical skills, and a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of the bottle deposit and beverage tax regulations
- Ensure regulatory compliance by filing timely government and other required reports
- Prepare financial entries and reconciliations
- Support the launch of new products that may be subject to bottle deposit or beverage taxes
- Manage the deferred customer billing process
- Oversee the customer exemption process and resolve deduction claim disputes
- Act as the subject matter expert on bottle deposit and beverage taxes within the company, consulting with colleagues across the organization
- Work with IT to determine SAP master data and configuration settings, including pricing conditions and unit of measure determinations
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including financial reporting and analysis
- Provide support during internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Drive continuous improvement through process renovation and automated solutions
Requirements and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- CPA preferred
