Arch Capital Services is looking for an experienced Benefits Manager to administer and manage Arch's leave of absence programs. This person would assure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, while serving as a liaison, to all employees, HRIS representatives, and managers, with the interpretation, guidance, and counsel of all benefits.
This person will also be responsible for the company life insurance plan, ensuring that the plan eligibility, evidence of insurability and coverage rules are set up accurately within the third-party administrator’s enrollment system.
This role can be remote in the US, with a preference for EST candidates.
Job Responsibilities:
Understands internal objectives for the end-to-end leave administration processes as they relate to federal and/or state leave regulation.
Manage accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Work with department that handles Workers’ Compensation claims and have knowledge about how these claims integrate with FMLA and ADA when reporting claims to disability carrier.
Analyzes leave requests and recommends appropriate action within company policy, while ensuring compliance with state and federal leave laws and insurance plans.
Ensures accuracy and timeliness of all leave-tracking activity while servicing internal and external customers. Delivers timely responses to questions related to leave administration and system generated tasks.
Stays current on FMLA regulations, state leave and income replacement laws, as well as corporate leave and income replacement policies.
Reviews contracts, plan documents, and employee communications to ensure that all are current and in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Manages TPA performance, including planning discussions/meetings with suggested resolutions.
Spearheads the marketing of the Disability and Life Insurance carriers to control costs and/or as a result of carrier performance.
Compiles, analyzes and reports data including employee, plan financials for strategic benefits planning and evaluation. Provides benefit plan interpretation, guidance and counsel to employees, HRIS representatives, and managers, and to Payroll.
Presents information to inform and educate management. Serves as a liaison with service providers in business planning and benefit program interpretation.
Monitors eligibility, limitations, and restrictions of plan participations and ensures compliance with both plan provisions and government requirements.
Provides guidance and counsel to employees, HRIS Workday representatives, and company managers on the requirements and provisions of disability and other leave of absence programs programs and assist with the resolution of potential problems.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience:
Proficient with Excel.
Knowledge of benefit programs, including flexible benefit programs.
Experience working in Human Resources or related field with an emphasis in business or finance.
7-10 plus years related benefits experience required.
Desired Skills/Experience:
Advanced knowledge of federal, state and local leave laws. Proficiency in Workday, including the Time-off and LOA platform.
Demonstrated basic knowledge of employee benefit programs, including flexible benefit programs and retirement plans. Some ERISA knowledge helpful.
Requires strong communication skills, good writing skills, strong customer service and analytical skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
Organizational skills to develop/maintain reporting standards where applicable. Must be a problem-solver.
Must remain open to change and new information and ideas and adapt to the same.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$105,060 - $142,140
