Senior Engineering Manager (South America)

You are an experienced Engineering Manager with a solid technical background. You will lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams in this role, driving delivery, performance, and quality. In this position, your responsibilities include:

• Managing the operation and innovation of the technology platform for tutors and tutor operations groups. This entails tasks such as onboarding new tutors, matching tutoring opportunities with the most suitable tutors, ensuring the fulfillment of tutoring sessions, scheduling tutoring sessions, handling tutor invoicing, and managing tutor payments.
• Continuously improving tutor operations efficiency, enhancing the tutor experience, and adapting our system architecture to meet future business demands.
• Providing guidance and supervision for technical architectures and systems design.
• Overseeing our engineering staff's daily progress and development, setting objectives, monitoring their progress, and addressing any obstacles.
• Constantly improving and optimizing your team's performance, both in terms of the individuals on your team and the systems they have created.
• Above all, you inspire, mentor, and support the engineers under your supervision, empowering them to realize their full potential.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

• Proven track record in Engineering: You have at least 5 years of successful leadership experience.
• Proficiency in designing and constructing complex yet efficient systems at scale.
• Experience with monolithic and microservice architectures, preferably in a cloud-hosted environment.
• Strong desire to learn and a passion for educational technology.
• Demonstrated success in hiring and nurturing talented engineers.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with AWS services.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
• Knowledge of test-driven development.
