Custodial, Maintenance, Grounds and Carpentry Compensation

 

PAY GRADE:

Range 8

SUPERVISOR:

Manager or designee.

 

SUMMARY:  

Responsible for maintenance, care and upkeep for all Grounds and related equipment throughout the District.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Manages all equipment and personnel assigned. Responsible for daily operation and maintenance of assigned machine or vehicle. Follows all safety rules and regulations. [Daily, 50%]
• Aerates and applies fertilizer as scheduled. [Daily, 5%]
• Performs weekly maintenance of assigned sites, including mowing, weeding, edging, site cleanup and gravel playgrounds. Runs large area mower on a route. [Weekly, 25%]
• Maintains knowledge of irrigation layout at all facilities. [Weekly, 5%]
• Available for after-hours sweeping, sanding and snow removal as assigned. [Monthly, 5%]
• Assists in landscape construction and repair, to include repair and installation of fences, both wood and chain link. [Quarterly, 5%]
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year experience in operation of equipment related to job description.
• Must have phone for emergency contact.
• Must meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

 

• Valid Colorado driver’s license.
• Must have or obtain CDL Class A within six (6) months of employment.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• N/A

 

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

• Extremely heavy physical lifting of over fifty (50) lbs. Items will be of various shapes and sizes.
• Overhead lifting and squatting required on daily projects.
