Senior Ophthalmic Imaging Technician - POCC Amb Ops - MSH - FT Days M-F 9AM-5PM

The Senior Ophthalmic Imaging Technician provides photographic imaging of varying complexity on various medical subjects, such as patients, anatomical structures, pathology specimens and surgical procedures to provide illustrations for patient records, teaching aids, scientific publications, and informational brochures.

1.Confers with physicians, faculty, and/or laboratory personnel to clarify photographic requirements.

2.Provides technical advice on settings, angles, lighting and size of photographs.

3.Photographs operating room procedures such as open heart, gynecological, neurological, and plastic surgeries.

4.Photographs patients, anatomical structures and pathology specimens.

5.Makes copies of x-rays and similar materials utilizing photographic techniques such as time-lapse and ultra speed pictures and ultraviolet or infrared light to produce visible records of normally invisible phenomena.

6.Produces computer slides from original concepts and develops computer art, charts and graphs. Performs photomicrography.

7.Makes duplications, reductions, color corrections, and other similar photographic procedures.

8.Performs preventive maintenance and minor repair on photographic equipment.

9.Classifies, sorts, and files prints, negatives, and other photographic materials. Monitors inventory levels and requisitions supplies as needed

10.Mentors other medical professionals on the Ophthalmology team on imaging techniques.

11.Performs other related duties.

 

  • Bachelors degree in biomedical photography or equivalent experience is preferred, or a combination of equivalent medical photography training and experience
  • 3+ years in biomedical photography
  • Certificate in Biomedical Photography preferred

Compensation Statement

 

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $38.02 - $41.45 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
