Associate Legal Counsel, Production

        

About the Role

Media.Monks is on the lookout for a highly motivated Associate Legal Counsel to join the US Legal team and help with day-to-day legal matters for our content productions in the US & Canada, with additional touchpoints in Mexico/LATAM. This position will report to the VP, Legal & Business Affairs, US & Canada, and will involve working closely with our production teams to advise on a wide range of award-winning projects.

• Requirements:

  • J.D. and active member of the Bar in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 3-4 years of professional experience, including 2 years in-house experience – preferably within the digital production industry 
  • A working knowledge of contract law and intellectual property rights as they relate to advertising, marketing, and digital + physical production 
  • SAG/Union experience a plus, but not required
  • The ideal candidate will be proactive, hands-on, and able to multitask and manage a varied, high-volume workload in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In other words, a self-starter with a strong work ethic. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and provide practical solutions to key stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Flexible and a willingness to take on tasks in new areas of law
  • Enthusiasm to work within a team, but also able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Fluent in English. Any other language skills (preferably Spanish) are a bonus

Media.Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Media.Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Media.Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
