Provides front line coverage in any Patient Access area as needed. Independently makes decisions of high complexity. Ensures adequate and appropriately trained staff in each area, provides guidance and support to staff in assigned areas. Responsible for the interviewing, evaluating, rewarding and counseling assigned staff, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provides input and ensures departmental compliance of policies and procedure. Manages payroll hours and rotates call with other departmental supervisors. Preferred Education:
High school diploma or equivalent Required Skills:
Meditech, Microsoft Office, Computer Keyboarding, MedicalTerminology Required Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) Certification Required Experience:
Minimum 1 year lead and/or supervisory experience in a patient access setting. Demonstrated competency to successfully perform as a patient access specialist I, II, III, and IV, which would typically be obtained through 3 years direct experience in these positions or comparable duties in another department or at another healthcare facility. Minimum 3 years customer service.
