This is a fixed term position, with an initial term of 1 year. Additional time will be dependent on performance, continuation of funding, and mutual agreement.
Purpose
The Postdoctoral Fellow reports to Jie Li, Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy to investigate natural products biological activities, chemistry, or biosynthesis for drug discovery.
Responsibilities
Biological evaluations of natural products for drug discovery
Microbial genome mining for specialized metabolites discovery from human microbiota
Manuscript preparation for scientific publication
Generate data and participate in scientific writing to contribute to grant applications
Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
PhD (received within 3 years) with a research background in natural products discovery or biological evaluations.
Proficiency in analyzing microbial genomic or metabolomic data.
Demonstrated ability to conduct scientific research and report in the form of original research publications.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD and at least one year of experience with bioassays.
Prior experience in biological evaluations with animal models, as well as strong verbal and writing communication skills.
Salary Range
· $54,000+ depending on qualifications
