Data Scientist and Software Developer - Remote

Position Summary:

As a Data Scientist and Software Developer at CVS Health in our "Analytics & Behavior Change" group, you will be on the front line of driving innovation and directly impacting business decisions. This role is part of a team that works across the Pharmacy Benefits Management ecosystem building analytical cloud-based platforms to support pharmaceutical forecasting and pricing.

• You will modernize legacy systems using cutting edge technology.
• You will work with teammates from our business groups, product management, data engineering, and application development, as well as with peers from partner data science groups.
• You will develop components of the Underwriting Platform, a software product that serves financial users from our Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) business unit.
• You will work on multiple components of Data and Forecast Mart (DFM) application, where data resides on GCP thru multiple sources and egressed to Azure for forecasting and modeling.

Responsibilities, End to End Software Development:

• You will be responsible for the complete application development including business analytics, data-driven insights, recommendations on logic, design, and implementation of different features of DFM application.
• You will collaborate with business partners to identify new use cases, understand their problems, perform root-cause analyses, support decision-making, gain insights from data, and implement a technical solution in partnership with data engineering teams.
• You will write/review code and business logic to forecast historical claims data that integrate with a Big Data system upstream, and a UI downstream.
• You will contribute to the overall Application roadmap, working closely with product managers and business partners to understand their challenges and develop analytical tools to help drive business decisions.
• You will be maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years' programming experience (solid understanding of system design, data structure and algorithms).
• 3+ years' experience with ETL technologies (i.e. massaging data - quality, architecture, modeling).
• 2+ years' Data Science experience leading analyses and initiatives with track record of business impact using data driven insights.
• Experience with Python, PySpark and SQL.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of RDBMS, Big Data, Azure, Docker, GCP, Databricks and GIT.
• Knowledge of full model development life cycle including EDA, feature engineering, data visualization, model development and deployment, forecast accuracy, model monitoring, model drift.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline. Masters Degree is a plus.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$72,100.00 - $144,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
