A Day in the Life
We anticipate the application window for this opening will close on - 18 July 2025.In this exciting role as Prin IT Technologist, you will support the 4 manufacturing sites that make up the Twin Cities Campus (TCC) with reporting requirements and development. The candidate selected for this role will utilize various reporting technologies such as Spotfire and Power BI, to support existing reports and dashboards as well as create new ones to be used in manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience writing complex SQL statements in both Oracle and SQL Server environments.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Work with engineering, quality, operational excellence (OpEx) and other Business Stakeholders to create functional requirements for reporting requests.
- Develop SQL queries against various data sources such as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), quality systems and other data sources.
- Create new reporting utilizing Spotfire, Power BI, Business Objects and Excel.
- Provide direct support to reporting users when reports do not refresh or if they display inaccurate/inconsistent data.
- Support Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) software engineers with query development requests used in equipment on manufacturing lines.
- Collaborate with engineering, OpEx, Quality and other functional groups in the TCC to come up with analytical recommendations to assist with zero loss and other MPS related initiatives.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Requires 7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree or 12+ years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with Operations/Manufacturing teams.
- Experience working in the medical device industry.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
