Join us on this meaningful journey where your skills, compassion, and dedication will make a remarkable difference in the lives of those we serve. </span></p><p><span><strong>Position Summary</strong></span></p><p><span>The Surgical Technologist is an allied health professional competent in surgical procedures and an integral part of the surgical care team.  The Surgical Technologist works under the supervision and delegation of a surgeon to facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist is an expert in the theory and application of aseptic and sterile technique, knowledgeable of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and surgeon preferences to properly prepare the sterile field, supplies, instrumentation, and equipment. During the surgery, the Surgical Technologist provides appropriate instrumentation and assists through a combination of knowledge, participation, anticipation, and critical thinking.  The Surgical Technologist works alongside and assists the circulating nurse as well as other members of the surgical team. </span></p><p><span><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></span></p><ul><li><span>Completion of case carts</span></li><li><span>Proper communication with operating room staff</span></li><li><span>Cleaning and care of operating rooms, core, and equipment</span></li><li><span>Decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of instrumentation</span></li><li><span>Surgeon preference card maintenance</span></li><li><span>Supply outdates</span></li><li><span>Weekday and weekend call coverage</span></li></ul><p><span>Every effort has been made to make this job description as complete as possible.  However, it in no way states or implies that these are the only duties the incumbent will be required to perform.  The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or is a logical assignment to the responsibilities assigned with or without notice.</span></p><p><span><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: </strong>Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology through an accredited Surgical Technology program.</span></p><p><span><strong>Certification(s):</strong> National Certification as a Surgical Technologist through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)</span></p><ul><li><span>American Heart Association healthcare provider BLS, within one month of hire</span></li><li><span><i>Preferred </i>1-year surgical technologist acute care experience. </span></li><li><span>Verbal, written, and computer skills </span></li></ul><p><span><strong>What do we offer</strong></span></p><p><span>We believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care.
