As we strive forward with ambitions to gain and retain more accolades, we are seeking a Pantry Line Cook (Dinner Service). The work schedule is Wednesday - Sunday (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM). This position is based at our JUSTIN Estate: 11680 Chimney Rock Road, Paso Robles, CA 93446.
Job Description
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Supports the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in the Garde Manger (Pantry) section.
- Participates in daily kitchen prep work and station set-up prior to service, maintaining the highest quality food preparation standards.
- Prepares proteins, seasonal ingredients, and pantry items safely and in compliance with local food safety regulations.
- Follows Chef instructions precisely to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes.
Collaboration & Menu Execution
- Works closely with the Chef team to maintain standards, execute new dishes, and support seasonal menu changes.
- Assists in the preparation and execution of special events as assigned by the Chefs.
- Communicates product and garnish needs to the Farmstead team and pick items from the JUSTIN garden as required.
Station & Service Management
- Sets up and maintains the pantry station prior to and during dinner service, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness throughout service.
- Works as a collaborative team member, contributing to a positive and efficient kitchen culture.
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen experience preferred
- Culinary degree preferred, but not required
- Food Handler’s Card required
- Strong ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and a genuine passion for food and wine
- Calm, approachable demeanor with excellent teamwork skills
- Multitasking and strong communication skills
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and safe food handling practices
- Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Pay Range: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience.
