Title: Pro Shop Manager

Classification:  Non-Exempt

Reports to:  General Manager

Summary:

The Pro Shop Manager is responsible for the management of the Pro Shop, consistently delivering customer service excellence and consistently meeting or exceeding member and guest expectations. Operate at both a tactical and strategic level, managing and continuously developing all aspects of the golf shop. This involves providing a clear vision for its strategic direction, whilst taking personal responsibility for identifying additional sales and marketing opportunities; customer service excellence is consistently delivered, and revenues and profitability are maximized. Areas of responsibility are likely to include the golf shop and outside services.

Essential job functions: 

• Provide a clear vision of where the golf business is going and the route it will need to follow in order to get there. 
• Provide effective leadership for the golf shop and outside services, giving direction and providing support where needed. 
• Work closely with other senior managers within the organization to ensure that the business development strategy for golf operations fits with the overall corporate strategy and supports/is supported by those of other business areas. 
• Prepare and regularly review the schedules of the pro shop and outside services.
• Keep abreast of changes in the environment in which the organization operates and use this knowledge to identify new business development opportunities for all areas of the pro shop and outside services.
• Influence and positively manage the development of organizational culture.
• Recruit, induct, monitor and develop members of the golf operations management team and complete regular performance reviews. 
• Ensure that all members of the golf shop and outside services team have appropriate opportunities to develop skills, knowledge and experience to enhance their performance.
• Develop, deliver and monitor learning and development activities for the pro shop and outside services team and to promote In-house training.
• Ensure promotional activity is properly structured, communicated and delivered

Physical Demands: 

• Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk and crouch. 
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.

Qualifications: 

• Knowledge of golf course industry is a plus.
• Working with Lightspeed Point of Sale.
