SUMMARY:
A multi-skilled, mechanically proficient technician responsible for providing focused and competent maintenance support while demonstrating technical expertise as a highly developed troubleshooting electrical technician. This role involves:
- Following and enforcing the National Electrical Code (NFPA 79).
- Maintaining responsibilities and performance requirements within all fields of the Maintenance team, including all requirements for Technician levels I & II.
- Mentoring and training apprentice (unlicensed) electricians.
- Demonstrating technical engineering expertise and utilizing effective root cause analysis methods.
- Advocating for electrical safety programs and being trained on all electrical hazards.
- Engaging in continuous job-related training.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose PLC and HMI programs (Load, modify, create)
- Understand, troubleshoot, and problem solve issues of intermediate complexity in advanced electrical/mechanical systems (PLC, Drives, Servo, HMI, CNC, etc.)
- Understand advanced and complex functions of production CNC machining equipment
- Understand the principles of circuit interruption, switch functions, and trip curves of circuit breakers, components of a switchgear assembly, and related preventive maintenance requirements
- Test, overhaul, and perform preventive maintenance on low voltage circuit breakers
- Troubleshoot, inspect, and clean components in motor controllers
- Advanced competency in root cause analysis evaluations
- Mentor/coach/lead other technicians
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
