Job Title: CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Construction Manager

Rate of Pay: $21.00

Shift: Variable shifts supporting business demands:

Evenings, weekends, holidays and special events are required based on business needs and on-call for emergencies.

SUMMARY

Provide highly skilled construction support and operation of resort and guest facilities within the guidelines of the Resort's environmental commitment. Assist Construction Manager in all capital expenditure projects, building construction, remodeling throughout resort and lodging units.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist Maintenance Manager and Construction Manager on building/repair projects.

Perform remodeling projects in lodging units.

Provide leadership, training, and guidance to Maintenance Technicians I and II on building/repair projects.

Comply with Safety Standards for the project and use of tools and machinery.

Comply with no-idling policy.

Support the recycling program.

Keep work and guest areas safe and presentable while performing repairs and installations.

Clean up after repair or task.

Properly dispose of recycling and rubbish.

Respond to and resolve all guest and employee reported maintenance issues/concerns in a timely, courteous and professional manner.

Efficiently and accurately prioritize and complete tasks.

Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly building tours and inspections.

Perform preventative maintenance tasks and repairs as needed.

Assist other departments moving furniture, making improvements, unloading and storing supplies as business levels allow.

Must have high-level maintenance skills and able to effectively perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of the following:

PAINTING/DRYWALL

Provide Sundance with a high quality appearance in guest cottages, offices and public areas.

Maintain inventory of paint and supplies.

Requisition supplies as needed.

Organize and prioritize assigned projects.

Carefully complete prep work to ensure a favorable painting product including drywall repairs.

Paint accurately, quickly and efficiently while maintaining a clean environment.

Must be proficient in painting techniques and styles.

Hang and finish drywall.

CARPENTER/BUILDING

Construct and repair structural woodwork and equipment throughout the property.

Build, repair, and install counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework and trim.

Install glass in windows, doors and partitions.

Proficient in finish carpentry.

Carpenter with knowledge of Commercial Carpentry preferred.

Plumbing and electrical knowledge.
