Role description:

Arcadis seeks a Senior Pipeline Engineer - Team Leader to join our Resilience Water Team in Jacksonville, Plantation or Orlando with 10 or more years’ experience in planning, design and/or construction of water wastewater and/or stormwater linear assets. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated engineer to support one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. 

As the Senior Pipeline Engineer – Team Leader you will utilize your expertise and technical knowledge to successfully lead and manage project delivery and assist with the pursuit of municipal water/wastewater pipeline projects to build and grow our conveyance practice across Florida. The focus of this role is water/wastewater design for linear projects, including pipeline assessment and rehabilitation. This position offers significant growth opportunities for advancement as you manage delivery teams and build strong client relationships.

Role accountabilities:

The Senior Pipeline Engineer will provide technical leadership and support to our team of highly skilled engineers while executing projects simultaneously and utilizing technical knowledge and experience to develop the team’s overall capabilities. In addition to managing project/tasks and clients in the planning, design and construction of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, stormwater systems, and pump/lift stations as well as creating construction documents, specifications, and handling construction oversight/administration for both new construction and for rehabilitation work.

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Manage and lead condition assessment evaluations for water, wastewater, and storm system assets including pipelines and pump/lift stations using a variety of approaches and technologies.
  • Meet established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; for project/task scope schedule and budget.
  • Work directly with clients to determine needs and provide solutions and may lead teams in the preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations.
  • Coordinate execution of projects with other disciplines and the Project/Program Manager.
  • Develop small to large design projects from inception to completion.
  • Prepare complete construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of W/WW systems for clients.
  • Manage and lead the growth of client relationships.
  • Create and manage cost estimates and project schedules and will be responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule.
  • Lead preparation of detailed engineering calculations & analysis and utilize design software to solve complex issues.
  • Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior level engineers & design/drafting technical staff.
  • Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards.
  • Oversee and participate in people management activities including hiring, onboarding, staff development, mentoring and performance management.
  • People management skills; including experience managing and mentoring staff in achieving professional development objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Water / Wastewater experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
  • Florida PE License

  • Excellent technical engineering and Project/Task Management skills in the W/WW practice area.
