Job Description

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern provides support in the implementation of projects that maximize up-time, minimize scrap and drive continuous improvements and quality standards. This position reports to the Operations Manager and is based in Washington, NC.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES:

  • Participate in the design, development and testing of new and existing products and equipment.
  • Assist in the preventive and predictive maintenance systems, reliability centered maintenance and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Perform reliability support, investigations, studies of molding, automation, robotic systems and operations.
  • Participate in timely completion of engineer projects within the budget provided.
  • Measure and track key process information used to direct resources (O.E.E., downtime, etc).
  • Ensure the transfer of information to appropriate shift and plant wide personnel.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for equipment repair and maintenance projects.
  • Contribute to team effort by performing related tasks as needed to assist in financial goals.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field of study preferred.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledgeable or willing to learn and apply the ITW Toolbox.
