Within CSR, the Community Engagement team oversees Disney’s local community engagement through philanthropic giving, external community relationships, and engagement with nonprofit organizations to bring positive, lasting change to key markets in which Disney operates its business (Los Angeles, Burbank, and New York City). The team works to ensure Disney’s local community engagement strategies and communications strengthen the company’s reputation, business position, and local community impact.
The Assistant Program Manager, Community Engagement is a Project Hire for two years. This position reports to the Manager, Community Engagement.

Responsibilities:
- Charitable Grant Administration
- Manage the operations associated with issuing charitable grants to local nonprofit organizations, including the CyberGrants grant lifecycle, engaging in initial nonprofit outreach, obtaining and uploading supporting grant documentation, CyberGrants troubleshooting, following up with nonprofits, and payment logistics
- Track the department’s charitable contributions in Smartsheet and Tableau
- Partner with select colleagues across the enterprise to support charitable budget management for their respective departments
- In-Kind Contributions
- Manage in-kind donation logistics and relationships with internal teams and external nonprofit partners
- Coordinate regular in-kind contributions, ensuring that donations are properly captured in CyberGrants for reporting purposes
- Oversee in-kind inventory stock and lead ad hoc projects to replenish inventory
- Relationship Management
- Support Manager and Director with nonprofit relationship management, including preparing agendas for meetings with external partners, notetaking, and email correspondence
- Support Manager and Director in collaborating with Government Relations and other internal stakeholders to maximize the impact of Disney’s local community grants and nonprofit relationships
- Field unsolicited nonprofit inquiries via the TWDC Social Responsibility inbox
- Communications and Events
- Support nonprofit events, including developing guest lists, sending invitations, creating tribute ads, etc.
- Support the team with event planning logistics and execution as we host nonprofit organizations on Disney property
- Support communications efforts to amplify local community events with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. This may include drafting talking points, articles, social posts, etc., managing photo and video content, and more.
- Track the Community Engagement team’s program budget, including managing invoices, making payments, and ensuring tracking documents are up to date
- Support the CSR team as needed (e.g., drafting communications, attending events, supporting charitable contributions, creating trackers and organization systems, etc.).
Basic Qualifications:
- At least two years of professional experience in Corporate Social Responsibility, Community Engagement, Government Relations, Communications, Marketing, Public Affairs, or other relevant experience
- Strong experience working with financial and project management tools, including Smartsheet and Tableau
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to set clear objectives and drive work
- Strong project management skills and ability to multitask
- Comfortable working in a matrixed structure; flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of accountability and accuracy
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Proficient in Adobe Creative suite
- Passionate about social impact and corporate social responsibility
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in CyberGrants and SAP
