POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr Product Manager of Corporate Systems will have the opportunity to drive the implementation and enablement of transformative technology capabilities supporting many of our Corporate functions including Finance, Legal, Real Estate & Corporate Communications. The position requires excellent product management and leadership skills to translate business needs to product roadmaps & releases and work with engineering teams to deliver valuable & reliable technology solutions. The position is responsible for managing the relationship with key business partners, providing day-to-day business support and ensuring our business applications are delivering the highest value & customer satisfaction for our various customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with business partners to identify and define the capabilities to deliver 5B short term and long-term goals.
Creates and documents a vision for multiple products & projects in a prioritized multi-year roadmap
Documents business requirements in the form of user stories; grooms stories in the backlog to ensure that engineers on the scrum team understand the acceptance criteria
Responsible for defining Epics & features and prioritizing the team backlog.
Builds relationships with key business partners and other stakeholders to ensure an understanding of their business processes/needs and integrate those into the backlog, liaising between those stakeholders and the technical teams.
Leads team demonstrations of software products and provides context to explain how the software product applies to business processes
Sets and communicates iteration goals and iteration content via prioritized user stories
Partners with the stakeholders to help drive user adoption of new capabilities, including development of change management plans, communication plans, training, and user adoption surveys.
Leverages lean methodologies working with engineering to negotiate tradeoffs between scope, schedule and quality on behalf of stakeholders.
Provides input to release planning, design storming, QA validations and signoff at iteration level across multiple scrum teams.
Proactively and effectively communicate changes to systems (Projects / Minor enhancements related changes.)
Engages with software vendors and understands new application functionality that’s being evaluated for implementation.
Communicates critical business-impacting incidents to leaders in a timely manner and ensure they are communicated in business language; provides cross-functional team coordination to remediate critical issues and ensures ongoing status is communicated and contingency options that best support the business are provided
QUALIFICATIONS:
8+ years IT experience
5+ years’ experience in product management or product ownership on an Agile team, preferably for a large retail company.
