The Statler Hotel, located on Cornell University's campus, is renowned as "the premier hotel that teaches." It serves as the practical hotel operations laboratory for the Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, providing students with hands-on experience in hospitality management. The hotel combines modern elegance with the vibrant energy of campus life, offering guests a unique and immersive stay. With over 150 rooms and state-of-the-art conference facilities, it hosts numerous important events and meetings. A Dish Machine Operator (DMO) is responsible for maintaining dish washer operations in the outlet. A DMO operates a dishwasher and other cleaning equipment in a safe manner and follows drying and storage health code guidelines. The DMO may support a variety of departmental functions including routine cleaning projects, material organization, or equipment preparation. A DMO may also assist in the transportation of materials throughout the department. Work schedules are variable based on business needs and may require night, weekend, or holiday availability.
Required Qualifications:
Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
High School education or GED preferred, basic reading and writing skills.
Walking and standing 100% of the time.
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and pulling.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year experience cleaning at a hotel, restaurant, or commercial building.
