An exciting opportunity exists for a college intern to join our Prototyping and Reliability team at the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department (AMSD) at Raytheon in Andover, MA. AMSD develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.
What You Will Do
- Mechanical design and certain electrical design portion of projects
- Interact with a cross-functional team on a daily basis
- Work with SME to provide end to end support from concept and design to procurement and testing
- Collaborate and communicate on project progress and design details
What You Will Learn
- Structural design in the RF microelectronics field using Creo and AutoCad
- Design trade-offs between key metrics covering performance, cost, schedule and manufacturability
- Tolerance studies, material selection and procurement
- PWB board design
- RF module testing in engineering labs
Qualifications You Must Have
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major.
- This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum entering their sophomore year by the start of summer 2026.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Strong problem-solving experience
- Knowledge of RF field
- Knowledge of Printed Circuit Board manufacturing
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplined engineering environment

This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore by the start of summer 2026.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
