About the role
Aledade seeks an experienced health care attorney to provide advice and support on a wide range of legal and business matters. The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various strategic agreements entered into between Aledade and its network of independent physicians as well as agreements between Aledade and third party IPAs or various associations, working together to increase participation in Aledade’s accountable care organizations while promoting value based care, among other things. The Associate General Counsel will also be responsible for supporting Aledade Care Solutions and the Aledade, New Ventures business division by helping to evaluate and structure business initiatives undertaken by such teams and all related contractual arrangements. In addition, this attorney must be able to work across the legal department, supporting various speciality areas and provide support on all matters such as employment, compliance and litigation, including helping with investigating and incidence response. This attorney must be able to identify various regulatory issues, with a focus on the Anti-Kickback Statute and be able to develop compliant solutions to facilitate Aledade’s business objectives. This attorney must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment and working closely with Senior Leadership on such strategic arrangements and all related corporate legal matters. The Associate General Counsel will have a multi-faceted role spanning support for the Outreach and Growth teams, New Ventures team, Aledade Care Solutions and critical business partnerships.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Provide regulatory and strategic guidance to internal clients.
- Work closely with business-team leaders to help issue spot, anticipate, develop, structure, draft, negotiate and review complex strategic agreements in connection with provider contracting.
- Create, streamline and improve existing and new template agreements in connection with such provider contracting.
- Create, improve, and implement internal processes and procedures and guide teams in standardizing such contracts.
- Assist with investigating and incidence response.
- Respond to legal requests on topics related to Aledade’s participation in such strategic arrangements and provide guidance as a subject matter expert.
- Handle additional assignments and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar.
- 12+ years prior experience in a business-oriented law firm or in-house legal department.
- Significant and relevant health care regulatory knowledge focusing on Fraud, Waste, and Abuse.
- Advanced level contract drafting and negotiation skills related to documents in the provider space. Ideal candidates will have experience with customized and/or bespoke agreements.
- Experience with provider-facing healthcare companies or health plans.
- Strong written, communication, and research skills.
- Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, including the ability to explain complex information to non-lawyers.
- Ability to work in a team environment while also delivering independent results
- Demonstrated ability to work under competing deadlines and adjust responsibilities in response to recalibrated business needs.
- Ability to be flexible and scale in an extremely fast-paced, thriving startup environment.
