The Services Assistant B supports the maintenance and operations of School of Arts and Sciences facilities by conducting regular inspections, coordinating repairs, and ensuring classroom and building upkeep. This role also involves moving equipment and furniture, assisting with deliveries, maintaining school vehicles, and supporting security, special events, and general facilities operations.Job Description
The School of Arts & Sciences (SAS) Facilities Planning & Operations Department provides services in project coordination, building administration, and operational services to the various departments within all School of Arts and Sciences buildings and spaces, both on and off campus.
Responsibilities:
Inspect and report on the condition of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems in school buildings.
Monitor and assess general-use classrooms for cleanliness, temperature control, and overall upkeep.
Assist building administrators in tracking maintenance work, repairs, and key distribution.
Move and transport equipment, furniture, computers, and other items within and between buildings.
Maintain school furniture and warehouse, including cleaning, preparing, and installing fixtures in off-campus buildings.
Handle, record, deliver, and ship packages, including special handling of bonded alcohol and infectious waste.
Assist with the scheduling, use, and maintenance of school vehicles; may serve as a chauffeur when needed.
Support building security, fire protection, and the reporting of safety and health hazards.
Provide logistical and operational support for SAS Commencement and special events, including some weekend work.
