Job Description:
Utilities Emergency Services is seeking a Fire Equipment Specialist.
Perform maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, repair, calibration and testing of mechanical, electrical, electronic and pneumatic fire protection systems, providing service to Kingsport and VCO sites as well as consulting services to all Eastman sites.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform testing, maintenance and calibration on water based mechanical fire protection sprinkler systems protecting manufacturing processes and buildings
- Perform testing, calibration, programming and maintenance on electrical/electronic fire detection systems protecting process equipment, buildings and mechanical/electrical equipment
- Perform testing, maintenance and calibration on gaseous fire protection systems (CO2, Halon, FM200, Intergen, Pro-Inert, Vortex) protecting critical process control equipment and computer installations
- Analyze, troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical fire protection systems interfacing with DCS and PLC process controls
- Perform acceptance checkout, testing and verification of new fire protection systems
- Perform regulatory required inspections in identified areas
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manage fire protection system records in accordance with regulatory standards
- Perform all system testing and maintenance site-wide
- Lead team meetings, prepare team charts/measures, manage inventory, conduct safety meetings, etc.
- Provide fire system training for Eastman fire patrollers, other Eastman sites, outside agencies and contractors.
Job Expectations:
- Must be able to effectively work on fire protection systems with/without technical support.
- Must possess mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot, dismantle, repair, assemble and install mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose both electrical and mechanical equipment problems, determine and perform necessary repairs.
- Utilize and enhance maintenance knowledge through problem-solving techniques to make continual equipment improvements.
- Plan jobs to completion and procure parts and materials that are needed to complete job assignment.
