Job Description

The Shift Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operational and financial excellence of Zalat by  being a leader to their peers and demonstrating decision-making that supports operational excellence and the embodiment of SWEIMER (Smile – Be Welcoming – Make Eye Contact – Give Insanely Fabulous Service – Say My Pleasure – Enthusiasm with every interaction – Be Real).

A great Shift Manager will:

- Manage the cook line to drive the highest levels of safety, cleanliness, quality, and speed

- Learn and complete operational support functions (i.e. purchasing, receiving, accounting processes, inventory) to ensure operational excellence and high financial performance

- Lead shift opening and closing procedures to maintain our facilities and equipment to the highest standards

Job Specifications

You are responsible for everything that happens during your shift. You must understand all policies and procedures and show your team how to follow them. 

- Supervising a team, at Zalat or elsewhere, with at least a year’s experience

- Holding a Food Manager Safety Certification

- Exhibiting strong communication skills, both written and verbal

- Understanding and complying with our cash handling procedures

- Managing and adhering to schedules

- Successful completion of a mandatory background check
