Responsibilities

The MPL Claims Coordinator assists with the administrative and day-to-day functions related to Pediatrix’ Medical Professional Claims & Liability program.

 

Responsibilties

  • Manages the department’s General Inbox
  • Manages the Risk Help Line (phone)
  • Manages matters received through the company’s Registered Agent, CT Corp
  • Manages departmental calendar
  • Documents Adverse Occurrences/Risk Matters reported by healthcare practitioners (via phone and email) in claims management system
  • Maintains Intake Log for all legal matters sent to department
  • Coordinates all recurring meeting and conference call requests
  • Processes mail (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)
  • Processes check requests for the department
  • Conducts Expert Witness conflict checks and maintains log
  • Updates department SharePoint site
  • Reviews Subpoenas and Attorney Requests for Medical and Billing Records
  • Creates Supplemental Claim Forms
  • Processes Captive funding requests for all medical malpractice claims bills and settlements
  • Performs other assigned duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience/Education:

Experience in Legal and/or Risk Management experience required. 

Minium of Associates Degree

 

Software:

MS Office Proficiency

 

Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered
