Position Specific Description

Our cybersecurity team is the best in the industry. Our mission is to develop a risk and security-focused culture that delivers world class cyber solutions and processes that protect NextEra Energy’s company assets and spans all employees and affiliates. Join our cybersecurity team as a 2025 summer intern supporting our Threat Defense Services Team (TDS). TDS’s mission is to better secure the NEE network by discovering and eliminating threats/risks to the company before they become an issue.

 

  • The candidate will work with the threat hunting team to learn the technical details and practices used to search for advanced threat actors and malware on networks
  • The candidate will develop or improve the current process for tracking findings and remediation efforts
  • Candidate will use and analyze results from security applications
  • Create custom threat detection plans & Improve processes to track finding and root causes

Job Overview

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists department with assigned projects
  • Completes challenging projects and assignments
  • Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
  • Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school grad / GED
  • Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
  • Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
