Food Production Manager - Southgate

Job Description

Assists in the management a large university central commissary under the direction of the Assistant Director. Responsibilities include Pre-Prep, Bakeshop, and Southgate Warehouse; unit purchasing and procurement; budget and operations; administration of automated food inventory systems (FoodPro); management of the warehouse and stock rooms, inventory products, inventory analysis, and personnel; and manages invoices, receiving documents, requisitions, and others. Provides relief assistance to the management teams for food production, supervision, counseling, training and development of employees, customer relations, safety and sanitation, and the security and maintenance of building and equipment.

Required Qualifications

• College experience in Business Management, Accounting, Hospitality, culinary certification program or related programs and/or related experience.
• Experience and working knowledge of principles of supervision, accounting and bookkeeping principles, commercial kitchen and food service operations; budgeting and operations management; and warehouse/stockroom procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and public; excellent supervision and leadership abilities; and excellent customer services skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of computers including Windows, Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or similar operation program and software, and automated food inventory systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of commercial purchasing, state bid process and purchasing procedures.
• ServSafe certification and HACCP certification.
