New York Life’s AI and Data team delivers innovative data, insights, and AI solutions for the organization. Our AI team works on a diverse portfolio of AI and GenAI projects, by combining agile and entrepreneurial drive with industry-leading methods and tools. Our efforts are fully supported by executive leadership, and we work hand in hand with our Business Partners through all stages of model development from ideation to deployment. As it takes multiple skill sets to deliver AI models to production, our AI team includes product managers, data scientists, MLOps engineers, program managers, a model validation & governance group, and a communications & development group.
You will lead the building and maintenance of a platform used to enable the development and deployment of AI & Data solutions. You will help to build and maintain an industry leading MLOps tech stack.
Responsibilities
- Build and support of the MLOps platform.
- Support Data Scientists/ML Engineers and Data Engineers in implementing efficient, secure and scalable CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement architectural patterns for on-prem and cloud data/ML pipelines and solutions.
- Build strong relationships and partner with technology (IT) stakeholders to enable systems integrations, deployments, etc.
- Function as a platform expert and help contribute to solution design and implementation decisions.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and be part of a collaborative team.
- Work with the Scrum Master to create stories and provide milestones.
- Effectively articulate information and ideas to a diverse group of people
- Stay up to date with the latest MLOps trends/emerging technologies and look for opportunities to improve the stack.
Required qualifications.
- 10+ years of industry experience with at least 3-years in a technical lead role
- Expert-level experience with cloud compute environments (AWS) along with cloud-native tools; proficiency in Terraform a must
- Experience with containers (Docker), container orchestration (Kubernetes) and process orchestration/DAGs (e.g., Airflow)
- Experience working with data teams and automating ML and other data-intensive applications development workflows.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD and DevSecOps best practices
- Excellent command of Git (branching strategies, security, Jenkins integration, pull request process, etc)
- Good command of SQL and with familiarity with an RDBMS
- Understanding and previous support of real-time and batch inference
- Have an agile mindset.
- Graduate-level degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant work experience
Preferred:
- Understanding of ML frameworks (sklearn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc)
- Experience working with big data platforms (Hadoop, Redshift, Snowflake, etc)
- Architecture, design patterns, production scaling/optimization
- Insurance industry experience
Salary range: $132,500-$197,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
