About the Opportunity:

As the Facilities Manager based in San Francisco, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our office operates at peak efficiency while embodying our mission and values. With 10+ years of progressive facilities management experience—ideally honed at leading tech companies—you will lead our efforts to maintain, enhance, and transform our physical environment. Your strategic oversight will support a dynamic, innovative workforce and help drive Tools for Humanity’s ambitious goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilities Operations & Maintenance:

    • Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our San Francisco office, ensuring high standards of safety, efficiency, and functionality.

    • Implement and refine operational procedures that reflect best practices from industry-leading tech companies.

  • Strategic Planning & Project Management:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute long-term strategies for facility enhancements and capital improvement projects.

    • Utilize data-driven insights and smart building technologies to optimize space utilization and operational performance.

  • Vendor & Contract Management:

    • Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors and contractors to secure quality service delivery and cost-effective solutions.

    • Leverage insights from top-tier tech environments to maintain best-in-class vendor partnerships.

  • Budgeting & Financial Oversight:

    • Develop, manage, and optimize the facilities budget, ensuring that expenditures align with operational needs and strategic objectives.

    • Track and report on key performance indicators to support data-informed decision-making.

  • Safety, Compliance & Sustainability:

    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while fostering a secure and inspiring work environment.

    • Lead sustainability initiatives and integrate green building practices to reduce environmental impact and enhance workplace well-being.

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Mentor a team of workplace professionals, instilling a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    • Serve as a liaison between building management, external partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless facility operations.

You Are:

  • A seasoned facilities management professional with 10+ years of experience, ideally in high-growth, technology-driven environments.

  • An exceptional communicator with strong leadership skills, capable of motivating teams and managing complex projects.

  • Detail-oriented and analytical, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

  • Technologically proficient, with experience using modern facilities management software, IoT solutions, and data analytics tools.
