About the role

Job Overview

Support customers, customer service representatives, field engineers, and sales managers by driving execution on engineered to order (ETO) custom projects from order receipt to project deployment completion at the Utility.  Projects involve medium voltage switchgear and capacitor banks for electric utility customers.

A Day In The Life

  • Understand project requirements from customer specifications and the marketing proposal/quote
  • Communicate with systems engineering, applications engineers, design engineers, sales managers, and customers to clarify requirements and ensure technical feasibility
  • Reslove technical issues with systems engineering and design engineering and propose design modifications, alternate components, and other methods to achieve requirements
  • Work with systems engineering to deliver the custom design documentation and expedite customer approval
  • Upon customer approval, work with systems engineering to ensure release of all internal documentation required for Operations to procure material, schedule production, and commit shipment dates
  • Communicate and coordinate between Operations and the customer regarding shipment quantity needs, configurations and timelines
  • Manage timeline and readiness for customer Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Manage action items with all functional groups to achieve customer approval to commence shipments
  • Coordinate with customer, applications engineering, and sales for customer on-site training, acceptance testing, inspection requirements, packaging and transportation requirements
  • Manage deliveries and customer deployment of systems and pull-in necessary resources to troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain shipment cadence 

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical or similar Engineering curricula
  • Masters degree in engineering or an MBA a plus
  • 7 years experience in Engineering, Applications Engineering, Marketing, Product Management or Project Management role preferred
  • Experience in Electric Utility Industry, Medium Voltage Switchgear, and Capacitor Bank systems preferred
  • Experience with SAP and MS Office software including MS Project preferred
