About the role

Job Summary

The Sr. Accountant plays a vital role in supporting KEEN's success by ensuring accurate financial reporting through data analysis, reserve analysis and computation, journal entry and reconciliation preparation, and data management within the ERP system, with a special focus on inventory and cost of goods sold accounting.This role partners closely with individuals across business units to support key decision makers.

This role is based in Portland and requires a regular presence at our global headquarters (minimum two days per week).

Essential Functions

  • Maintains ERP records, such as standard costs and reserve data in SAP, and supports the related accounting and audit processes to ensure accuracy.
  • Partners with Operations, Finance, and Logistics leaders to communicate matters such as balance sheet valuation, reserve analysis, standard cost and margins, and the potential impacts on the financial results.
  • Performs accounting analysis, including global inventory valuation, purchase price variance analysis, and cost of goods sold reporting.
  • Prepares month-end journal entries.
  • Performs general ledger account reconciliations
  • Provides recommendations for global standardized processes and streamlines existing processes.
  • Trains global teams to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Calculates and monitors reserve balances.
  • Provides recommendations to management regarding reserve adjustments and ensures compliance with GAAP accounting standards.
  • Supports annual financial audit. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance required
  • Four (4) years of accounting experience, including general ledger, GAAP, and financial reporting
  • Experience with inventory valuation, reserve analysis, and purchase price variance analysis required
  • Public accounting experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a changing environment.
  • Ability to work across functions and share accounting information with non-accounting team members to support decision making.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex accounting concepts to outside departments.
  • Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • SAP experience preferred. 

Travel - No 

Base Salary: $83,000 - $92,000 yearly
This range represents the low and high ends of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and location.
