Energy Assistance Program Client Intake

Description
The primary function is to determine eligibility and process applications for the Energy Assistance Program.
This position will also:
1. Assist with the Housing Program when needed;
2. Provide the community with information about Client Services Programs to encourage support for the
program and program growth;
3. Complete data entry and reports timely and accurately for Energy Assistance Program and Emergency Funds;
4. Meet with families to identify strengths and needs;
5. Provide information and referrals to them for all TRI-CAP programs as well as other community resources.
6. Provide advocacy when needed;
7. Refer clients to Family Development when appropriate;
8. Schedule training for clients that guide them towards self-sufficiency, including Energy Education and
budgeting;
9. Correctly calculates income to verify the eligibility of services according to program guidelines;
10. Audits files as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
1. High School Diploma
2. Must be able to travel to attend and complete training and other professional meetings, conferences, and
workshops pertinent to the Client Services Programs;
3. Effective written, verbal, listening, and communication skills;
4. Demonstrates willingness and ability to work with persons of different socio-economic status and culturally
diverse populations;
5. Experience using the computer for data entry and report generating;
6. Must be organized and able to manage the flow of paperwork.
