Job Description

• Brief Overview of their student duties/expectations to add to the system: LCP is a clinical immersion experience for Phase 1 students. It involves a student coming to your practice setting, learning from you, and directly interacting with patients. This is our students’ first official clinical experience within the curriculum, so it is an excellent way for them to begin implementing their academic knowledge in a practical setting, while also working on patient interaction skills, and observing how experienced clinicians such as yourselves operate.Broad goals of the LCP program: 1. Immersion in culture of medicine: setting, roles, 2. Professional Identity Formation: What is a physician’s role? What is my role now? How can I be helpful? What do I need to get there? 3. Practice skills: a. not main goal b. must adapt to setting, patient/practice needs 
• Students are prepared to demonstrate
• Developing skills - physical examination and oral presentations
• Document patient information in a note
• Notes will NOT be in EPIC
• Apply a clinical reasoning directed approach to symptom assessment
• History taking: wellness visits and symptom focused
