$70,559 (Class II, Step 6) - $97,415 (VII, Step 10) Annually for a 10-month contract
Tenure-Track Nursing Faculty receive an additional $1000 market additive for each month of their 10-month contract year.

Job Description
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under an assigned supervisor, Instructors participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, courses and other experiences that will directly result in the educational growth of the students and support advancement of the vision, mission and values of the college and District. This position may include a combination of day, evening, and/or weekend assignments, large lectures and small seminars, and is being offered by a college strongly committed to the "open door" concept serving a diverse student population. Instructors will be expected to perform other duties consistent with their faculty job description as stated in the faculty contract.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA AS SET BY THE CALIFORNIA BOARD OF REGISTERED NURSING:
Master’s in nursing OR Bachelor’s in nursing AND Master’s in health education or health science OR the equivalent OR the minimum qualifications as set by the Board of Registered Nursing.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must demonstrate:
Academic preparation for, or successful experience in, teaching nursing courses at the community college or university level or equivalent subject matter expertise.
Expertise in maternal-child nursing and willingness to teach.
Ability to work effectively and professionally with colleagues and students.
Ability to instruct and motivate students from a broad spectrum of academic, ethnic, socioeconomic, cultural and language backgrounds.
Experience in actively engaging students to think critically while participating in the learning process.
Evidence of a strong commitment to remain current in nursing and its instructional program.
Applicants must demonstrate a sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
