The Samstein Laboratory is seeking highly motivated postdocs to lead projects aimed at studying cancer immunology and the interaction of the DNA damage repair and response pathways with the host immune system. The lab looks to identify predictors of response to immunotherapy and understand the mechanisms of altered response towards the design of novel immunotherapy treatments.

Candidate should have a background in tumor biology, tumor immunology, cancer genomics or DNA repair and basic familiarity with mouse models. The postdoc will work under the guidance of a physician-scientist principal investigator and be involved in both basic and translational studies addressing fundamental but clinically relevant topics.
 

Technical Duties: (include any protocols) 

  • Perform independent research in the area of cancer immunology.
  • Critically analyze data quality and results, communicate results to scientists and lay people.
  • Write or assist in writing scientific papers and grants (e.g. K award).
  • Collaborate closely with other scientists to conduct research.
  • Work towards development of independent scientific ideas with a long-term goal of independent investigator status.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. required
  • Experience working in a research laboratory setting

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the ISMMS and the Sinai Postdoctoral Organizing Committee - UAW.
