A Day in the Life
As a Facilities Maintenance Planner/Scheduler at our site in Danvers, MA, you will play a key role in standardizing maintenance practices for corporate facilities within the northeast region. You’ll be part of a team that values inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- With direction from Facilities Supervisor/Manager, plan, develop and maintain maintenance schedules for predictive, preventive, corrective/reactive, and emergency maintenance.
- Assign work orders to technicians based on schedule, priority, operational requirements, time to complete, technician/vendor availability, and other factors.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal technicians to schedule repairs and maintenance.
- Work with site/manufacturing/operations leadership to plan and schedule equipment/facilities downtime as needed for maintenance to enable maximum equipment availability.
- Coordinate submission of any forms/notices to internal stakeholders (i.e. IT Request for Change, EHS, Quality) that may be required to perform work.
- Maintain and administer CMMS system, ensuring asset data, PM schedules, PM task list, and other critical information is accurate and up to date.
- Ensure utilization of full capability of CMMS system.
- Analyze data and generate reports to monitor maintenance KPI’s and overall effectiveness of maintenance programs.
- Identify process improvements and opportunities for increased efficiency in maintenance activities.
- Review work request/work order scope for completeness and follow up as needed to ensure clarity.
- Ensure work orders are fully documented (i.e. As Found conditions, work performed, As Left conditions, additional corrective maintenance required, etc).
- Support the deployment of Medtronic’s Maintenance Excellence strategy by participating in key initiatives, kaizen events, and providing data/reports as needed.
- Ensure adherence to all safety standards, facility-related protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Provide training and support for CMMS for new hires.
- Support quality audits as needed with requests related to CMMS/Maintenance data.
- Provide feedback to site leadership and technicians to support accuracy of spare parts inventory.
Must Have – Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience in facilities services operations or equivalent experience OR
- Associate’s degree with 2+ years of experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 1+ year(s) of experience
Nice to Have - Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using a CMMS (e.g., SAP, Maximo, Blue Mountain RAM, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, SOPs, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience in a regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, aerospace, etc.).
- Background in GMP, ISO, FDA, or EHS-regulated environments.
- Familiarity with HVAC, cleanrooms, building automation systems, or utility systems.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose improvements.
- CMMS configuration experience or planner certification (e.g., SMRP, SAP PM).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion for team collaboration, equity, and driving results.
