Summary/Objective

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with pharmacists in dispensing medications, ensuring patients receive the correct medication and dosage. Exceptional customer service is a key aspect of the position, involving interactions with both patients and healthcare professionals.

Essential Functions

Read and interpret physician's medication orders.

Prepare and package chemotherapy medications and other medications requiring special handling, adhering to safety measures.

Assist in filling, processing, and dispensing medications.

Re-package and label medications according to established protocols.

Adhere to safety practices to ensure quality care for patients.

Support inventory control practices to maintain the drug inventory.

Provide prompt and courteous customer service, answering phone calls and addressing inquiries.

Triage requests and prioritize them efficiently.

Regularly check for expiration dates on medications.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of a Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent experience.

Active Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT).

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations.

Proficient in pharmacy software and computer systems.

Preferred Education and Experience

PTCB Certificate

1-3 years as a pharmacy technician
