PayPal, Inc. seeks Manager, Software Engineering in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Design, develop and deploy REST-based API web service applications. Define technical requirements for building REST-based API web service applications. Write automated tests to validate and verify functionality of web service applications. Provide technical support for software applications deployed to internal and external environments. Collaborate with technical and non-technical teammates to build and implement software solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to testing goals and principles. Lead software development teams in the design and management of product road maps, partnering with multiple application development teams across the globe to influence business solutions and coordinate multiple data and integration projects across the enterprise. Constantly improve team productivity, refine agile processes, and create methods to increase efficiency. Partner with business groups, functional teams, system admin to identify technical project risks and work effectively to mitigate them. Recruit and train new software engineers on PayPal’s best practices, standards, culture, and policies. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Preferred Qualification:
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
Experience with designing and developing large-scale, highly available, and distributed systems using Java/J2EE (3 years). Experience in working on Spring framework (3 years). Experience with SOAP/REST concepts and experience in developing and consuming SOAP and RESTful web services (3 years). Hands on experience in working on oracle database and writing SQL queries (3 years). Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) concepts, including experience in using build and deployment tools to streamline and automate the development lifecycle (3 years). Experience with cloud technologies and experience in working on any cloud platform (3 years). Experience with front-end technologies like Node JS or Angular JS (3 years). Experience with Agile methodology including Scrum execution (3 years).

Salary: $226,158.00 - 287,100 per annum.
