Responsibilities

 

  • Complete patient interview and history while rooming the patient. You will need to be able to measure and record vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, bladder scans and record all data timely. 
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
  • Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
  • Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples. Record all data timely.
  • Clean up rooms along with making sure rooms are stocked.
  • Check space for anything outdated. 
  • Willing and able to abide by policy and procedures set forth by OSUP, OSU and the department. 
  • Work along with your team but work independatly as well. 
  • Has time management skills. 
  • Willing to cross-train with the 2 departments included in the space. (OBGYN and Urogynecology)
  • Willing to help cover at other offices if and when needed. (Doesn't happen often)
  • Responsible for FMLA, PA, inbasket work and misc.
  • Any other job duties provided to you by your manager.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:

• A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR• Military Medic training OR• EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education

 

Preferences:

• Medical Assistant Certification

 

At OSU Physicians, Inc., we recognize the value of acquiring a certification in medical assisting. Therefore, our Certified MAs receive additional compensation for getting and maintaining this certificate!

Pay Range

USD $17.49 - USD $28.19 /Hr.
