Position Summary:
The Senior Digital Solution Analyst will support strategic business initiatives to deliver and maintain a digital insurance engagement and underwriting platform for use by Ryan Specialty Group (RSG) and its insurance distribution partners. There are multiple business/solution analysts at RSG. This position requires the most technical acumen. This position will be a vital link between our solution and our business objectives by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of requirements gathering, design, building, testing, deployment, and maintenance tasks of the software solution lifecycle. The Senior Digital Solution Analyst is heavily engaged in the systems development lifecycle and participates as a working member of daily stand-up meetings and other development team activities. As a “bridge” between the insurance product management team and the development team, the Senior Digital Solution Analyst is a key contributor to solution delivery.
Essential Functions:
- Act as the “Systems Expert” on all aspects and functionality of digital solutions (e.g., The Connector) as well as other peripheral systems. Will work closely with Development team, IT team, and external vendors to enhance offerings and capabilities.
- Work closely with insurance product management and other subject matter experts to turn business needs into consumable requirements (stories) for the development team
- Engage in all aspects of solution delivery, including testing, implementation, and maintenance.
- Help design, document and maintain system processes
- Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations
- Accurately identify problems and provide appropriate solutions, including coordination with partners, external vendors, and other internal teams to deliver optimal solutions
- Serve as a liaison to other organizations such as training and support
- Participate in Agile team daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and sprint retrospectives
- Work with other project team members to create test scripts and testing plans
- Participate in department meetings, provide input and suggestions
- Basic knowledge in generating process documentation
- Provide weekly status reports to summarizing accomplishments/issues of the past week.
- Assist in gathering information on software, equipment and supplies as needed
- Work with other team members to accomplish organizational goals
- Perform special projects as assigned
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of 3-4 years previous experience in business / systems analysis, quality assurance, software company product management, or software solution implementation/consulting
- Prior experience in the property and casualty insurance industry is desirable
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Experience with Agile development techniques and supporting tools desirable
- Prior experience using Jira and Confluence is desirable
- Experience with insurance policy management/administration systems is desirable with specific Epic-Premier ConceptOne background being highly desirable
- Project management skills such as defining scope, maintaining project plans and driving project teams desirable
- Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions
- Able to cultivate interpersonal client, partner, co-worker and executive relationships
- Experience handling multiple deliverables and moving adeptly between internal and external issues and interactions
- Willingness to learn new technologies and take on new responsibilities
- Ability to perform job duties and manage workload with little or no supervision
- Demonstrating a strong work ethic and setting an example of excellence
- Ability to multi-task while consistently maintaining strong attention to detail
