Performs a variety of mechanical tasks related to performing preventive/general maintenance on university building systems. The hours for this 4-day, 10 hour position are Sunday through Wednesday, 5:00 am to 3:30 pm.Job Description
Essential Duties:
- Reviews work orders and investigates site; determines proper repair procedures; estimates time and materials needed
- Performs repair work; replaces tile; repairs doors and window; unstops sinks and other plumbing fixtures; repairs steam valves; replaces motors and pumps on heating/air conditioning equipment; repairs electric switches and receptacles
- Serves as informational resource to staff
- Plans and conducts a comprehensive preventive maintenance program
- Cleans and maintains tools and equipment
- May assist in setting up of stages, rigging, curtains, and lighting system for special events
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; requires driver's license.

- Knowledge of carpentry, electricity, and plumbing repair and maintenance
