Mainframe Network Engineer (REMOTE)

Tech Firefly is partnering with a national financial services company to hire a Mainframe Systems Programmer to join the dynamic team. This is a remote position that offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology solutions to solve unique challenges for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and perform system programming on Mainframe systems.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Mainframe software applications.
• Analyze and troubleshoot Mainframe system problems and provide technical solutions.
• Install, test and validate Mainframe hardware and software upgrades.
• Evaluate system performance and capacity planning to ensure high system availability.
• Ensure system and compliance standards are adhered to.
• Provide technical expertise to support project teams in the development and delivery of Mainframe-based solutions.

Requirements

• Mainframe Network engineer supporting Parallel Sysplex: Configure, debug and maintain TCPIP and VTAM subsystem configurations.
• Knowledge of all products using SNA & IP (DB2, CICS, TSO/ISPF, Netview, Connect:Direct, JES2).
• Utilize mainframe Configuration Manager under z/OSMF to Configure and implement AT-TLS rules (digital certificate management).
• Configure and implement IPSEC policies (permit/deny rules, VPN-- ipsec tunnels).
• Utilize SMP/E, TSO/ISPF and SDSF/ISPF to monitor, install, configure, and maintain system program products.
• Proven experience with Secure Encrypted data transfers (NDM, SFTP and FTP/TLS) Tcpip trace analysis – IP, Socket, OSA adapter, SNA(EE).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products that include – Word and Excel. Excellent collaboration skills with internal as well as external team members.
• Follow all Change and Incident Management Procedures. Create the required technical documents that include software upgrade and backout processes
• Must be able to work weeknights and weekend to implement changes.
• Supply On-Call support on rotation basis.
