The team is responsible for educating the wider customer, business, and partner communities about cloud infrastructure, compute, storage and cyber security services. This role is on a dedicated marketing team within the Akamai marketing department. In collaboration with the sales and marketing teams, you will design and execute face-to-face, event programs to drive awareness and adoption of our solutions.

You will work with the Global Events Manager and cross-functional marketing team to design and deliver events across key programs including expos, webinars, seminars, hackathons, and sponsorships. You will support both developer and commercial focused events in collaboration with our Sales team. Managing complex assignments and enabling marketing activities pre and post is required to deliver on program goals.

As a Senior Event Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting strategy and execution of third-party events including booths, sponsorships, speaking sessions, and operations
• Collaborating with marketing, sales, and brand teams to meet goals and shape audience experiences
• Ensuring brand consistency across formats, regions, and event types
• Maintaining event toolkits, templates, folders, calendars, blogs, and internal content libraries
• Tracking, processing, and reconciling event budgets with timeliness and attention to detail
• Staying informed on product updates, event trends, and industry developments

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 3 to 5 years of event marketing or management experience in B2B technology
• Have organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage competing priorities
• Be skilled in juggling multiple projects of differing states of completion at any time
• Enjoy planning high touch, highly visible events for external audiences
• Be comfortable traveling in the United States and Internationally to support our global events strategy
• Be flexible, adaptable, and communicative as details develop, or as issues occur
