Position Summary.

The Director of Compliance and Improvement supports overall program goals, reporting to the Chief Operations Officer. This role is responsible for assisting with overseeing the day-to-day operations of Helping Hands Reentry Outreach Centers shelters, ensuring smooth functioning of all services, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and collaborating with other departments to provide comprehensive support to individuals experiencing homelessness.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
· Review daily operations of the shelters including intake procedures, resident assignments, meal services, and facility maintenance.
· Manage facility upkeep, coordinating repairs and maintenance with relevant vendors.
· Review, revise, implement and administer shelter policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with contracts, grants, and local regulations.
Client Services:
· Collaborate with case management and facility directors to review and develop policies and procedures that support continuous improvement of programs.
· Facilitate meetings and activities to promote community engagement and support systems.
· In partnership with Facility Directors, ensures the shelters provide a safe and respectful environment for all residents.
· As needed, supports efforts to identify new/additional funding streams and potential programming.
Budget Management:
· Track expenses related to operations, supplies, and maintenance.
· Identify cost-saving measures and propose budget adjustments as necessary.
Collaboration and Reporting:
· Work closely with other departments within the organization including case management, outreach, and facilities directors to coordinate services for residents.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
· Proven experience in managing operations within a homeless shelter or similar environment.
· Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, staff, and community partners.
· Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
· Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to track program effectiveness.
· Commitment to providing compassionate and person-centered care to individuals experiencing homelessness.
